Our mission is to make tools that lead to more productive, organized, and reproducible work for environmental researchers, managers, and engineers.
My name is Joe Shannon, and I am the founder of Streamlined Ecology. I hold a Bachelor of Science of Forestry from the University of New Hampshire and a Master of Science in Forest Hydrology from the University of Minnesota. I have had positions with Michigan Technological University, the University of Minnesota, the US Forest Service, and the University of New Hampshire.
During my 15 years in ecological research and forest management there were experiences of updating an analysis and finding myself in a maze of copy-pastes and file renames. There were other times of waiting on what seemed like a simple request or comment while a collaborator went through the same process. I decided I had had enough and developed tools for myself and my collaborators to ensure data quality, accurate analysis, and easily updated outputs. Streamlined Ecology stemmed from those 15 years and the tools that I built. Our mission is to make tools that lead to more productive, organized, and reproducible work for environmental researchers, managers, and engineers.
